I was born and raised in Louisville, and have lived in Kentucky my entire life (with the exception of undergraduate years in Massachusetts). My current home is in Lexington. I have a PhD in Biology from the University of Louisville and have taught the subject for more than a decade at the college level. My main passions outside of science are photography and music.

I've worked on photo projects for a number of individuals, businesses and charitable organizations. A particular highlight for me was working with the Kentucky chapter of The Nature Conservancy to photographically document the beauty of their preserves.
